Spend A Day On A Boat on The Stunning Island of Ibiza

Ibiza is widely famous for its famous parties and nightclubs. However, Ibiza offers way more than that. It has stunning beaches, crystal clear waters and beautiful natural landscapes. Best way to have an amazing adventure is to spend a day on a boat in Ibiza to best discover the island. To sail a day in Ibiza and visit charming places, the easiest way is to rent a boat to discover the secret places.

If you rent a boat in Spain, a boating licence is compulsory in certain cases. If the motor boat has more than 15 horsepower and longer than 4 meters. In addition, you also need a valid license, if you rent a sailing boat that is more than 5 meters long.

Don’t worry, if you don’t have the necessary documents for the boat you wish to rent, there is an option to rent a boat with a local skipper.

Step 1: Departure from Las Salinas (Ibiza)

Located in the Natural Park of Ses Salines, Las Salinas Beach is one of the best known and most popular beaches in Ibiza.

It is a wide beach with fine sand surrounded by pine trees and with warm turquoise waters. On the Las Salinas Beach you can find many services. For instance, it is common to find fruit vendors or even pareos and dresses. Moreover, you can find a really good atmosphere in Las Salinas and it provides and excellent starting point for your day trip!

Step 2: Cala Saona

We recommend that you leave at 10 a.m. from Las Salinas beach in the direction of Cala Saona, on the island of Formentera. The journey takes about 2 hours. There you can anchor, moor on the beach and sunbathe. If you feel like it, you can go diving or snorkelling here too! Moreover, there is a stunning seabed and amazing natural landscape.

Step 3: Playa Illetes

Another place not to be missed is the Illetes beach in Formentera, located on the north coast of the island. This beach is known for its beauty, but also for being one of the favourite places for celebrities.

The beach of Illetes is an hour and a half sailing from Salinas, but you can also visit it on your way back from Cala Saona.

Step 4: Espalmador Island

If you decide to spend a day in Ibiza, a must-see visit is the island of Espalmador. It is located only 150 meters from the beach of Les Illetes in the north of the island of Formentera. Also, Espalmador is the closest beach to Ibiza, about an hour’s sailing time that is only reachable by boat.

Espalmador is an ideal beach to spend the day and relax anchored to a buoy. However, you can’t drop anchor, as you risk destroying the posidonia.

While spending the day there, you will discover white, fine and deserted sands, but also turquoise and transparent waters. This island is famous for its mud baths, which guarantee very funny memories.

The island of Espalmador is located 150 meters from the beach of Illetes, in the north of the island.

Step 5: Return to Ibiza

Finally, in the afternoon, we advise you to sail back to Ibiza. Enjoy a magnificent sunset. The best way is to drop anchor in one of the coves or beaches in the surrounding area to discover the beauty of Ibiza’s nature at its best.
