Things to do in the Coastal Town of Benalmadena

by | Oct 4, 2019

Benalmadena is a town located on the south side of Spain and is known for its Tivoli World theme park and beaches. It is an ideal place for couples as well as family and keeps them busy. You can take a trip out to the sea on a ferry or rent a boat when you’re here.

Benalmadena has many different places to visit and things to do. Here are some of the best things you can do while you’re in this town.

Aqualand

If you take a short bus ride along the coast of Benalmadena, you’ll reach a neighboring resort known as Torremolinos. This is home to the very popular Aqualand water park. This is an ideal place to visit for people who have traveled to this city with their children. It is a seasonal attraction and is open from May to October, so if you are looking for a waterpark in this city to beat the heat, then Aqualand is the place to visit.

Discover Benalmadena from the Sea

Boats on the sea view from the coast.

If you are in Benalmadena, then boating is a must-do activity. During your trip you can enjoy some real-life dolphins swimming in the water. You can also go sea diving and enjoy the sea from down below. Plus, you can’t fully enjoy what a coastal town has to offer without taking a boat ride, either you’re the captain or you hire skipper and just enjoy the sailing trip with your friends or family!

Cable Car

If you want to a good view of this breathtaking city, then you can climb up to the Calamorro Mountain by taking a ride in a cable car. This is not recommended for people who are afraid of heights. This cable car runs from the outside of Tivoli world and gives you a splendid view of this beach city.

This ride is around 15 minutes long and provides you with a wide view from both sides of the carriage. Once you reach the mountain top, you will enjoy a gorgeous view; here, you can even take pictures. You can also use different cycling and walking routes; so for people who enjoy outdoor activities, this cable car is a good idea.

Along with stunning views, this is a good outdoor escape for people who need to get away from the bustle of the busy hotels present below.

Benalmadena Pueblo

Aerial city view on the Andalusian coast.

For couples who want a little extra privacy on their honeymoon, they can get on a short bus journey and find themselves in a traditional village that is a few miles ahead of the main tourist area. This village is an escape from the tourist-filled resorts and is ideal for long walks and midnight strolls.

The streets here are lined with whitewashed houses and small gift shops selling trinkets and charm bracelets. This village gives you a good example of the real Spanish life and in the center of this village is the Plaza Espana which is a traditional Andalucian square and in the middle of this square is a fountain along with a statue of La Nina.

With local cuisine present here in large numbers, you can enjoy this escape very much.
