If you are looking for the perfect beach, you can’t go wrong in the village of Paleokastrista. Believed to have once been when the mythical Phaeacians lived, this picturesque village is home to six different beaches, all well-known around Corfu, the most famous being Spiridon Beach. Although smaller than some of the other beaches, this pebbled beach is known for its delightful natural beauty and views around the cosmopolitan village that surrounds it and is often seen as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. If this beach isn’t what you are looking for, then only a short distance away you will find the other beaches of the village including Alipa Beach and Petros Beach, which means finding the right beach for you in this famous village is an easy task.

Glyfada

One of the most popular beaches in Corfu, and therefore the most crowded as well, Glyfada is a sandy beach surrounded by flora and fauna and kitted out with some of the best beachside equipment you will need. Awarded the Blue Flag for its crystal-clear water, the beach is close to many facilities such as shops, taverns, bars, and restaurants, as well as watersports, sunbeds and umbrellas and is also surrounded by some incredible diving spots, which are there to ensure you have the best beach day ever. As well as this, Glyfada Beach is surrounded by olive and pine trees, which create beautiful views as well as naturally shaded areas on the beach.

Agios Georgios Pagon

Travelling northwest from Corfu town you will find the gorgeous resort of Agios Georgios Pagon, which leads up to the beautiful beach. Set on the mouth of a stunning valley, the beach has also been awarded the Blue Flag award due to its fantastic environment and is filled with golden sand as well as pebbled areas. Although the beach itself is great, especially for families, and the nearby taverns and restaurants create opportunities to fill the rest of your days with fun, the best part of the beach is the stunning surrounding scenery and views, with the cliffs, trees and bay creating a breath-taking site.

Kalami

One of Corfu’s most picturesque spots, Kalami Beach is a white pebble beach which is known worldwide due to its presence in English author Lawerence Darell’s novel, ‘Prospero’s Cell’. The beach itself is clean and filled with beach and water sports which makes it a great place for a family day out. This beach is also slightly more secluded, being surrounded by forests and vegetation, which makes it a great beach if you prefer a quieter experience. The beach is also a great spot for early risers, as both the sunrise and the sunset are beautiful times of day to visit the beach, creating an unbelievable landscape.

Sidari

This underrated beach is very small, however, still considered a hidden gem among locals. Surrounded by services and chairs to rent, the beach is ideal for a full-day experience and is also a great place to try your hand at some watersports, such as water skiing, snorkelling and banana boat rentals. However, what makes Sidari unique is the Canal D’Amour, the stunning rock formation which includes coves just a swimming distance away. Local legend says that if you swim through the passageways you will soon meet your true love making it a one-of-a-kind experience.

After spending your day bathing in the sun and enjoying some of the world’s most famous beaches, why not head into Corfu Town for an incredible night, Corfu is known to be one of the most popular party hubs in Greece.
